Dear Children’s Clinic of Nashville Patients,

The Children’s Clinic of Nashville is committed to providing a safe environment for our families, our employees and our physicians. With this in mind, we have made changes to our schedules for the next four weeks.

Please read the information below carefully.

Beginning on Wednesday, March 18th, we will be offering 5 types of visits to ensure the safest environment for our entire TCCN family.

  • well check up, including the sports physical (8am-12pm)
  • sick visit without fever or respiratory symptoms (10am-12pm)
  • sick visit with fever, sore throat or respiratory symptoms (1pm-5:30pm)
  • telemedicine visit. (1pm-5:30pm)
  • expectant patient conference (for prospective new patients): we will do
  • these by telephone or FaceTime if patient desires

  • ALL patients will be screened for potential exposure to the coronavirus when scheduling any type of appointment, including a telemedicine appointment. We will perform the screening again when you arrive in the office. At this time, we do not yet have tests for COVID but can assess whether or not your child would qualify for testing.
  •  If you are already scheduled for a well visit in the afternoon in the next month, you will hear from our office about rescheduling to the morning block. It is very important to maintain regular well check appointments to ensure that all vaccines and screening tests are completed.
  •  We are CANCELLING ALL WALK-IN visits to allow for better screening and appropriate placement in the schedule. ALL APPOINTMENTS MUST BE SCHEDULED BY PHONE. If you walk into the office without an appointment, you will be advised to return to your car to call our office.
  •  If your child has fever, cough or sore throat we will see you only during the afternoon “sick” block. If your child needs to be seen for a sick visit and does not have fever or respiratory symptoms, we will see you during the morning “well/sick” block from 10am-12pm. Please call us to schedule so that we can place you into the correct block.
  •  To minimize the number of people entering our offices and waiting areas, it is extremely important that you bring only the child with an appointment and one parent. All other family members should remain at home.
  •   As your family’s medical home, we want to partner with you to provide the best care for your child. Please call us before taking your children to urgent care clinics. At TCCN, we are working to minimize any exposure to illness when you enter our office. As coronavirus spreads throughout our community, urgent care clinics will not be able to separate patients. Help us help you.
  •  If you feel that your child needs emergency care after our office closes, please call our after hours line so that we may help you decide if this is necessary. Adult patients are significantly more contagious than children. Additionally, we expect that the hospital systems will be overwhelmed within the next few weeks and hospitals need to concentrate on caring for the severely ill patients in our community.
If you have any concerns or comments, please direct them to us. As always, you may reach out to us by telephone or through the portal. Please be thorough with our staff when reporting your child’s symptoms so that we may best serve you. We want to be here for you during this time of uncertainty by providing the care your kids deserve and need and by keeping you as safe as possible.
